BIN CLEANING QUESTIONS

Do You Need to Be Home for Garbage Can Cleaning?

In most cases, no. Outdoor Service Pros can clean your bins after trash pickup as long as the bins are empty, accessible, and an outdoor water spigot is available.

One of the most common questions homeowners ask before booking garbage can cleaning is simple:

Do I need to be home?

For most customers, the answer is no. You do not need to wait around, meet us at the door, or adjust your day around the cleaning. If your bins are empty and accessible after trash pickup, we can usually clean them without you being home.

Outdoor Service Pros serves homeowners in Otsego and Rogers, MN. Our goal is to make garbage can cleaning simple, convenient, and easy to schedule around your normal trash pickup day.

How It Works When You Are Not Home

The process is designed to be simple. When you order online, you enter your trash pickup day, estimated pickup time, service address, bin location, and water access details.

  1. Choose your bin cleaning package.
  2. Enter your pickup day and estimated pickup time.
  3. Leave your empty bins outside after pickup.
  4. Make sure we can access the bins and an outdoor water spigot.
  5. We clean the bins the evening of pickup day or the next morning.

Our goal is to clean within 24 hours after pickup, as long as bins are empty, accessible, and weather allows.

What We Need From You

If you will not be home, the most important thing is making sure the bins are ready. Before service, please make sure:

  • The bins are empty after trash pickup.
  • The bins are easy to access.
  • The bins are not blocked by cars, gates, pets, or other obstacles.
  • An outdoor water spigot is available.
  • You give clear notes if the bins are not at the curb.

During checkout, you can tell us where the bins will be located. For example, you might write “bins will be by the garage” or “bins will be at the end of the driveway.”

Where Should You Leave the Bins?

The best place is wherever they are easy for us to find and clean after pickup.

Common bin locations include:

  • At the curb after trash pickup
  • In the driveway
  • Next to the garage
  • Another outdoor location listed in your checkout notes

If your bins are usually moved back from the curb quickly, leave a note during checkout so we know where to look.

Do We Need Water Access?

Yes. We currently use the homeowner’s outdoor water spigot for bin cleaning.

During checkout, you will be asked whether an outdoor water spigot is available. If you are not sure, you can choose “Not sure” and add a note. You can also text us before ordering.

If water access is not available, we may need to reschedule or make a different plan.

What If the Trash Truck Comes Late?

Trash pickup times can change. If your trash truck comes later than expected, leave your bins out after pickup.

We work routes based on pickup timing, neighborhood location, and the orders scheduled for that day. If your pickup is delayed, we will do our best to clean the bins the evening of pickup day or the next morning.

If something changes, text us at 612-432-8322.

What If It Rains?

Light rain may not stop service, but severe weather can cause delays. Lightning, heavy storms, unsafe conditions, or very bad weather may require us to reschedule.

If weather delays your service, we will work to complete the cleaning as soon as reasonably possible.

What If I Forget to Leave the Bins Out?

If the bins are not accessible, we may not be able to complete the cleaning. If that happens, we will review the situation and may need to reschedule based on route availability.

The easiest way to avoid this is to leave the bins where we can access them after pickup and add clear notes during checkout.

What Happens After the Bins Are Cleaned?

After cleaning, your bins should look better, smell better, and be less gross to handle.

We clean and deodorize bins. We do not currently claim commercial hot-water sanitizing, disinfecting, germ-free results, or bacteria-killing results. Some stains, old residue, paint, tar, or deeply stuck-on material may not come out completely.

The goal is a cleaner, fresher-smelling bin without you having to do the gross job yourself.
